In Conversation

with Juno Gemes

Join us for an exciting conversation to accompany Juno Gemes' current exhibition 1988: The Long March for Justice, Hope & Freedom.

Mediated by curator and artist Kyra Kum-Sing, this in-conversation event will trace Gemes’ journey from the frontlines of land-rights protests to her deeply personal archive, revealing how compassion and activism have shaped her work over decades. Gemes will be joined by Djon Mundine, a curator, writer, and cultural leader.

Together, they will explore the role of art in confronting history, reclaiming narrative, and envisioning justice through their work, activism and respective publications.

Following the conversation, special guest Jim Moginie (ex Midnight Oil) will share a few songs as we unwind on the Museum veranda.
