Pop-up Museum:

Sydney Telecommunications Museum

While the Sydney Telecommunications Museum is currently closed to the public, this one-day event offers a rare opportunity to explore objects, images and stories from their collection, bringing the history of communication to life in La Perouse.

What to expect:

Historic telecommunications artefacts and paraphernalia.

Antique telephones on display with a small selection available for purchase.

Archival images and visual displays throughout the gallery.

Live Morse Code demonstrations operated by Sydney Museum volunteers (Morse Code messages will be posted to your chosen address)

Weather permitting, additional displays will extend onto the adjoining balcony space.

This pop-up museum experience adds depth and atmosphere to the gallery and provides a unique, hands-on way to engage with Australia’s communication history as we celebrate the sesquicentenary of the La Perouse cable connection”.
